Have you ever felt overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what to do next? Maybe you’ve faced a problem that seemed impossible to untangle. But then, you decide to go for a walk. As you take one step after another, something shifts. Your mind starts to clear. You begin to see things differently. The movement, the fresh air, the connection to the world around you—it all works together to bring a new perspective.
Now, imagine if you had someone walking beside you—not just to listen, but to guide you, without judgment, with the skills to help you process your thoughts and emotions. That’s the essence of The Walking Therapist.
My journey to bliss
My name is Amy de Nobriga, and I’m a registered social worker with nearly two decades of experience. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with individuals navigating life’s most challenging moments—grief, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and more. Through my professional journey, I’ve found that walking therapy is one of the most natural, effective ways to support people.
For years, I recognized the power of movement in processing emotions, but it wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic that I fully realized just how much we needed more than just traditional therapy. We needed open spaces. We needed fresh air. We needed movement. And, most of all, we needed real human connection—not just through a screen or a virtual session, but by walking alongside one another in the real world.
That’s when I decided to merge my passion for supporting others with my love for freedom and movement. I launched The Walking Therapist, a practice that allows people to heal while walking side by side, rather than sitting across from a desk or talking through a computer screen.
The life-changing power of walking therapy
Starting my own private practice was a leap of faith. It was a big transition, filled with uncertainty. But what I’ve learned is that when you are on the right path, the right people and opportunities will find you. Doors open. Support arrives. And the fear that once felt paralyzing becomes fuel for growth.
Walking therapy has not only transformed my clients’ lives—it has also transformed mine. It has reinforced what I already knew deep down: healing doesn’t have to happen in a closed room. We heal in nature, in movement, and in connection with others.
Finding your bliss
The journey to bliss isn’t always clear, and sometimes, it requires stepping into the unknown. It might mean leaving behind a job, a relationship, or a way of thinking that no longer serves you. But what I’ve discovered is that true growth happens when we embrace change. The things we fear the most often lead us to the people we are meant to become.
So, I encourage you: take a step forward. Take a walk. And trust that your path to bliss is unfolding exactly as it should.
